It's been a year. This season we've had "The Music of Ahmad Jamal" led by Joe Bussey, the John Toomey–Justin Kauflin duo pianos at ODU's Chandler Hall, Justin's Holiday Hang with Richmond's own Corey Fonville and Andrew Randazzo, and Billy Williams taking us through "The Music of Miles Davis and John Coltrane." Thank you for filling the room for all of it — the listening in there is what makes these nights worth playing.
Now we close the season the right way, by handing the stage to the students. [Thursday, June 4 — time and place below.] GSA's jazz students take the bandstand for a night of their own, with alumni returning home from NY, Nashville, Chicago, Richmond, and Boston, to sit in. They've put in the year. Come hear what they've got!
