Mulgrew Miller was one of the kindest, gentlest, and most humble souls I have ever known. I, like so many others, have been transformed for the better, just by knowing and learning from his example. He carried himself with such a quiet dignity and was always so encouraging to everyone around him. The world has truly been blessed by the person he was and the music he shared.

I'm so grateful for the time I was able to spend with him, and I'll just keep shaking my head in amazement at the things he did on that piano. Nothing gave me more joy than going to see Mulgrew perform. Every time I got the chance to hear him play, and be so blessed to sit down and talk with him after the show, meant the world to me. He is truly my hero, and I will never stop learning from him.
