Hope everyone's enjoying the last of summer! I've returned from a 3-week tour with Quincy Jones and company, and I gotta tell you, I had an absolute blast. It was such an incredible honor to travel with so many amazing musicians and beautiful people. We put on six major performances starting in Montreux, Switzerland, then on to Seoul, South Korea; Tokyo, Japan and finishing in Hiroshima, Japan. I loved every minute, especially the time we spent in Japan. It was special for me to be able to visit Tokyo, where my mom was born, and Hiroshima, where my grandmother grew up. It was also great to have my folks hanging out with me in both Tokyo and Hiroshima. I'm so grateful to Q for inviting me on the tour, and I can't thank CT enough for helping bring us together one year ago. This was definitely an experience I will not soon forget.
And, now I'm back home and hard at work. I'll be returning to Havana Nights this weekend with my trio and am excited to play once again at my favorite hometown spot! Come out and join us if you can.
